August 2025: Knives Out

1. High Hand Offer

• High Hand will be paid $100 in chips (chips must be played for 30 minutes) at 11:59pm each poker night Thursday, Friday, and Saturday

• Must win High Hand with a full house or better and both hole cards must be used; player must make it to a showdown unless their opponents fold (can win High Hand before the river)

• In the event of a side pot or multiple side pots, the hand that takes the main pot will be the only hand considered the High Hand winner

• If two identical hands are played and both are determined to be the High Hand, both players names are put on the board but they will split any and all prize money equally

• Only the top board of any two board game, including Omaha, will count for High Hand

• High Hand winner must be present and playing for immediate pay out (chips must be played for 30 minutes); if the player is not present, a new High Hand that occurs after 12am can be paid $100 immediately (player must still paly for 30 minutes)

• If no one hits the High Hand by the end of the game, however early or late the game breaks, no High Hand will be paid that day and the following day the High Hand will reset to $100

2. Special Offers

• Thursday August 7, 2025  will be "Ladies Night"; all ladies at the social game will be eligible for a "free roll" hand at 10pm where the winner gets to pick any knife they want from the prize knives

• Saturday August 9, 2025  will be "Military Appreciation Night"; all active or veteran military (any branch) persons who show up to play the social game will be eligible for a "free roll" hand at 10pm where the winner gets to pick any knife they want from the prize knives

• Every Friday in August any returning player present and playing at 10pm will be eligible for a"free roll" hand at 10pm where the winner gets to pick any knife they want from the prize knives

•  Friday August 22, 2025 will be "Newcomers Welcome Night"; all new players who show up to play the social game will also be eligible for the above mentioned "free roll" hand at 10pm where the winner gets to pick any knife they want from the prize knives

• "Free roll" hand will be a single board Omaha high-only game with no betting; a second hand, single board Omaha high-only game will be played in the event of a tie

3. Free Tournament Offer

• Free Texas Hold'em hyper-turbo tournament every Thur, Fri, Sat at 8pm; any and all student players can enter for free (no money required)

• Starting chip counts for the hyper-turbo tournament will be given as follows:

  • 10 Chips will be given to every student who wishes to only play the free hyper-turbo tournament AND / OR who doesn't want to text their name to the FBX Poker School phone number 

  • 25 Chips will be given to every student who is going to play in the social game after the hyper-turbo tournament AND whom texts the word 'HERE' with their first Name and last initial to the FBX Poker School phone number (252-508-9114) before they are given chips

  • Players who are given 25 Chips because they claim they will play in the social game but then they don't play in the social game will be banned for the remainder of the promo month from playing in any Free Tournament at FBX Poker School

• Each player can addon or rebuy only one time for $5 (optional); the addon or rebuy is either/or, not both; $5 gets you 25 chips

• All returning student players who re-buy or add on during the month of June will get an extra five chips (30 extra for the one-time add-on / re-buy) 

• The highest points earner of the weekly free tournaments at the end of the month (June 28th) will get $100

• Tournament cannot start until at least 6 players are present (dealer may be counted); dealer may cancel the tournament at any time or for any reason

• Play starts at 8pm (or when there are 6 players) and unlimited new participants can be added until the tournament is three handed or it turns 8:30pm, whichever comes first;  except if a player(s) busts and this creates the final three before 8:30pm, the busted player(s) may still re-buy if they have not done so already (or did the addon) 

• Otherwise, one time re-buys or addons are not allowed once there are only three players left or it is past 8:30pm

• Blinds start at 5 and 10, then move up to 10/20, then 15/30, then 20/40, before doubling effectively every 5 minutes

• 1st place wins a chance at winning $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, or $100

• 1st place also wins 3 points, 2nd place wins 2 points,  and 3rd place wins 1 point on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday

• High point earner at the end of the month wins $100 of practice play money 

•  Final night of play is the last Thursday, Friday, Saturday of the month, whichever comes last

• Saturday August 30, 2025 is the last poker play day of August

• All wins must be played and practiced with for a minimum of 30 minutes within any social game.

• FBX Poker School has adapted Mohegan Sun Poker Room Poker Rules and will closely follow those posted rules

• Any dispute will be decided by the FBX Poker School Tournament Director Nate H. unless said person is in a hand; in that case, disputes will be decided by FBX Poker School Assistant Director Tony C.

• Promos begins July 1st and ends July 30th 2025

• FBX Poker School will host a Steak or Salmon Dinner at The Greens Restaurant 4:30pm Tuesday July 14, 2025; any player who buys-in for $25 or more on two out of four poker play days during the same week in June is invited to attend

July 2025: Patriotic Player Month

1. High Hand Offer

• Starting at 9pm, High Hand will be paid $25 in chips (chips must be played for 30 minutes) immediately unless there is no High Hand; in the case of no High Hand at 9pm, the High Hand pot will increase $25 every hour until 4am (max payout is $200)

• EXAMPLE: If no High Hand is hit until 10:05pm, there will be $50 in the pot and will be paid out immediately for $50. At 11pm, it resets to $25.  If it hits for the first time at 1:40am, there will be $125 in the pot. High Hand resets to $25 each time it is hit until 4am.

• A person who wins a High Hand can forgo payment in order to build the pot but if someone else hits a better High Hand, they lose any right to the High Hand pot

2. Raffle Offer

• Every hour, on the hour, there will be a free-roll bomb pot (dealers’ choice) and the winner will receive 10 raffle tickets for a chance to win $100, $50, $25, $10, $5, and / or $1

• Every person who is present at 9pm will receive 10 raffle tickets for a chance to win $100, $50, $25, $10, $5, and / or $1

• Every person who is present at the end of the game will receive 10 raffle tickets for a chance to win $100, $50, $25, $10, $5, and / or $1

• Raffle will be held at 11:59pm Saturday July 26, 2025 starting with the $1 winner, then the $5 winner, etc until all 6 winners are found

• Winners must be present and playing on Sunday July 26, 2025 by 11pm in order to win the raffle held at 11:59pm

3. Special Offers

• Win up to $5,000 "Timmy Money" July 14th, July 17th, July 18th, and July 19th

• Timothy will buy-in with $1,000 on July 14th, $2,000 July 17th, $4,000 July 18th, and $5,000 July 19th

• Timothy MUST see the flop of the first hand of the night each night July 14th through July 19th no matter the size of the bet pre-flop

• Thursday July 3, 2025  will be "Ladies Night"; first 10 ladies at the social game, no matter their buy-in, will get a chocolate and a glass of wine

• The first lady on July 3, 2025  who buys-in initially with $100 or more and then loses that $100 or more by being busted out will get a free $100 buy-in to the July monthly tournament 

• Saturday July 12, 2025  will be "Military Appreciation Night"; first 4  new active or veteran military persons who show up to play the social game, no matter their buy-in, will get a gift card

• Friday July 25, 2025 will be "Newcomers Welcome Night"; all new players will get $10 in chips (must be played for 60 minutes) and all returning players who bring a new player will also get $10 in chips (must be played for 60 minutes) 

• FBX Poker School will host a Dinner at Pagoda Restaurant 4:30pm Tuesday July 15, 2025; any player who bought-in for $25 or more on two out of four poker play days during the same week in June is invited to attend AND any player who buys-in for $25 or more on two out of four poker play days during the same week in the first two weeks of July is invited to attend
